Introducing The Ball Pit/The Door Dimension Projects, both are college ventures that showcase innovative image and animation work. The Door Dimension, created in 2022 for my Digital Art: 3D course, is an image sequence that has been expanded upon with the Ball Pit project, made in 2023 for my 3D Animation course, an animated extension of the original images. The Ball Pit animation was updated in 2024, adding an exciting new dimension to the project.
I was inspired to make this project by the ongoing fascination with the Backrooms on the internet. The original door renders were made in Autodesk Maya. I continued to use Maya to animate the Ball Pit sequence. However, I imported the Door scene into Blender for that scene's animation.
