Artist Statement

No matter what I do, I cannot stop looking at my screen.​

 

I am a digital artist who creates worlds based on the limitless portals between the 2D and 3D mediums. With the possibilities of mixed-media and collage art, I can create a variety of images and videos. My animation process consists of using 3D software as the base while using external software as a way to make hybrid content or vice versa. For my image-making process, I will use the same softwares, like Blender 3D or Clip Studio Paint, to show my artwork. Most of my work consists of comedic themes that transition into layers of my hyper-interests and personality. My favorite kind of art to create are characters that have a story to them through the lens of digital animation, alongside the entire process breakdown. My goal is to continue making work that speaks to my experiences so that I can share my worlds.

 

My motivation to make art comes from my identity as well as the inspirations I gain from media and internet culture. Being a Non-Binary Half-Nicaragüense American shows through in my art alongside my sometimes sad yet comedic personality. Franchises such as Star Wars have influenced my love for world-building, while works such as ‘Smiling Friends’ and ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’ have engraved my creative practice with a need for appreciating mixed-media comedy. The online space has not only given me the freedom to create, but I have a desire to reach people globally, especially with my far-away family. Having lived a bicoastal life, its struggles come with feelings of isolation from family and my own self-identification. Through the hard times life throws my way, the digital art world is used as my comfort tool.​
